General Usage / usability: The .tel TLD is unlike any other TLD. .tel Domain names are to publish ones contact information by automated DNS queries. The contact information is stored directly in DNS records, and available to applications which utilise the DNS system for retrieving this information. At the moment the usefullness is very limited, but the domains in the TLD are likely to become very popular as more and more services start to utilise this information. On these domains you can NOT host websites, NOT run mailservers and NOT do most of the things you would expect of a domain name. They are limited to serving contact data.
